Sutter Gould Breaks Ground on New Medical Office Building in Stockton

    May 2005

STOCKTON – Sutter Gould Medical Foundation recently broke ground on its latest project to improve service to Stockton area patients.

The new clinic, a three-story, 64,000 square foot medical office building, will serve as the offices for Gould Medical Group’s Stockton physicians. Physician services will include family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and endocrinology.

The project, at the corner of W. Hammer Lane and Don Avenue, will allow Gould physicians to relocate from their current offices throughout Stockton. Completion of construction is scheduled for summer 2006.

“I fully believe this next phase in our growth in Stockton will provide a more comprehensive environment of medical services to our community,” said James Conforti, Sutter Gould Medical Foundation chief executive officer. “Our physicians have always provided excellent care to their patients. With the additional resources this facility will bring, our patients will continue to receive the latest and most comprehensive services available.”

The medical office building will be equipped with new health technology features. EPIC, Sutter Gould Medical Foundation’s electronic medical record’s system, allows Gould physicians to access a patient’s medical record instantly to review lab results, prior physician visits, and prescription histories. The computer resources at the physician’s fingertips also include PACS, a filmless picture archiving and communications system that allows Gould radiologists to share digital images and diagnoses instead of shipping X-ray film between locations. Expanded lab and imaging services, including CT and MRI, will also be available for the convenience of Gould’s patients.

“We are excited about having a facility to service our patients in one location,” said David Eibling, M.D., a long-time Stockton OB/Gyn and one of Gould Medical Group’s physician leaders in Stockton. “Speaking for all our physicians, I believe this new facility will help us to continue to meet the needs and expectations of our patients.”

In addition to the new medical office building, Sutter Gould Medical Foundation has care centers located throughout Stanislaus and San Joaquin counties. Sutter Gould Medical Foundation is part of Sutter Health, one of the nation's leading not-for-profit networks of community-based health care providers, delivering high quality care in more than 100 Northern California communities. Sutter Health supports more than two dozen locally-run acute care hospitals, physician training programs, medical research facilities, and region-wide home health, hospice and occupational health services.
